As many of your know, I recently spoke with representatives of Publishers
Weekly about getting a discount for AJL members. However, when I surveyed our
membership to see if this was something desirable, the overwhelming majority
said “no,” mainly because PW is considered too general to be relevant for
Judaica libraries.

PW sent me this follow-up with information about their free Religion Bookline
e-newsletter, as well as the schedule of religion coverage in the magazine.
They understand that PW may not be as useful to Judaica libraries as public
libraries, but they do want to make sure we are aware of their services that we
may find relevant.

Here’s the info:

A.) We have a FREE e-newsletter titled Religion Bookline. It comes out once
a month on weds and covers all things relative to religion titles. You and your
membership can sign up here:
http://www.publishersweekly.com/pw/email-subscriptions/index.html

In book/online/ app

B.) Our Religion Updates supplements come out 4 times a year in Feb, May,
Aug, and Oct.

- They cover all things happening in religion titles and is filled
with bestseller list, industry trends and cover a specific feature such as
Religion books in libraries for children for example

C.) Spring Religion Announcement issue in March which covers all new title
releases for Spring

D.) Fall Religion Announcement issue in July which covers all new titles for
Fall

E.) We also had/have 4 other editorial features on religious titles aside
from the issues listed above.

As you can see we do an extensive amount of coverage to this segment and I am
hopeful that maybe a good chunk of your members just aren’t aware of how much
we actually commit to the religion titles.

I hope you’ll find this information useful.
