Do you want to use new media in teaching undergraduate and graduate students, but are not sure how? Are you experienced with social media but want to know how to use it more effectively to promote your new book or article? Do you have experience with digital tools and technology that you wish to share with colleagues? The AJS is pleased to introduce THATCamp Jewish Studies<http://jewishstudies2012.thatcamp.org/> at its December 2012 Conference as a forum for addressing all these questions (and any others you can think of!). THATCamp (The Humanities and Technology Camp<http://thatcamp.org/>) originated as a project of the Center for History and New Media at George Mason University that was later sponsored by the Mellon Foundation. Since then, over 100 THATCamps<http://thatcamp.org/about/> have been held or are scheduled to take place around the world, including at the annual conferences of the American Historical Association, the American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies, the Modern Language Association, and the College Art Association. THATCamps provide a way for scholars to explore all aspects of digital media and the humanities in an informal setting. This means that participants decide what they want to address on the spot. You are welcome to propose sessions on any aspect of technology and Jewish Studies that is of interest to you. THATCamp Jewish Studies<http://jewishstudies2012.thatcamp.org/> will run from 9:00am – 12:30pm on Sunday, December 16th at the Sheraton Chicago. Registration is free if you are already registered for the AJS Annual Conference, and $15 if you are not attending the AJS Conference. Please visit our website for more information – http://jewishstudies2012.thatcamp.org<http://jewishstudies2012.thatcamp.org/> – and get in touch if you have any questions about this exciting new program. This is an event for anyone with an interest in the humanities and/or technology, at all skill levels. We look forward to seeing you there!
