The new issue of Jewish Social Studies (volume 8, no. 2 -- Winter 2012) contains the article "Rescue or theft? Zosa Szajkowski and the salvaging of French Jewish history after World War II," by Lisa Moses Leff. It will prove fascinating reading for anyone interested in the "transfer" and theft of Jewish archival material from Europe to the United States, and their purchase by Judaica libraries.
