Gaon Books author and Israeli ethnomusicologist, Susana Weich-Shahak, has just won the European Prize for Folklore for her work on the Moroccan Sephardic Romancero, published 2013. This is an anthology of Judeo-Spanish ballads from the Spanish romancero tradition that have been preserved in the various countries of the Moroccan Jewish Diaspora.
