(seen on another list...) *Position Description:* This is a part-time (10 hours per week) position, located at the Temple Emanu-El—Ivan M. Stettenheim Library, New York, NY
*Overall Function:* The librarian will maintain and further develop the collection of books, journals and other materials (currently almost 5,000 volumes) related to the mission of Temple Emanu-El, namely the education of congregants, students and those seeking Jewish information. As information specialist, the librarian will provide leadership and expertise in the selection, acquisition, evaluation and organization of information resources and technologies in all formats. The librarian will work collaboratively with temple staff to provide resources to the different departments of the temple. *Duties and Responsibilities:* 1. Management of the library collection 2. Oversee evaluation of donated material and carry out book donations 3. Responsible for management and purchasing of new books and periodicals 4. Provide reference service as needed 5. Conduct library orientation as needed *Required Knowledge or Experience:* • Relevant experience in the field • A degree in Library or Information Science from an accredited institution preferred • Current in knowledge of library and information technology • Ability to work as a member of a team with the administration and faculty To apply, please email cover letter and resume to: *[email protected] <[email protected]>*
