Position Announcement: Part-Time Information Literacy Librarian

POSITION DETAILS:

American Jewish University seeks a part-time information literacy librarian 
primarily responsible for the planning, implementation, and coordination of a 
comprehensive library instruction program that supports student retention and 
success. Build effective relationships with faculty to develop course-related 
instruction and develop and promote library programs and services to faculty 
and students.  Help select, assess, and manage online information resources and 
their integration into the Library’s OCLC WorldShare Management System (WMS). 
Compile reports and statistics. Perform other duties as assigned. Salary 
commensurate with experience: $20-25/hour; 10-30 hours/week.



QUALIFICATIONS:



Minimum: Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent 
interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and enthusiasm for learning. Ability 
to work in a team-oriented environment. Demonstrated technology skills. 
Teaching experience and at least a Bachelor’s degree.



Preferred:  Master's degree from an ALA accredited institution. Experience 
working in an academic library. Demonstrated ability to guide and advance an 
information literacy program based on best practices, tools, and emerging 
trends. Knowledge of active learning pedagogy within courses, including 
course-integrated one-shots, embedded instruction and workshops. Understanding 
of and commitment to information literacy assessment methods. Experience 
developing online instruction materials. Experience with WMS or another 
Integrated Library System.
