I have an inquiry for a "good map" of the area proposed for the Uganda Scheme circa 1900. My understanding is that Joseph Chamberlain proposed to give a portion of then Uganda to Theodore Herzl for a Jewish settlement. This was ultimately rejected.
What I have read in various Google Book sites is that this was the Gwas' Ngishu Plateau, which does not seem to lend itself to a specific and well bounded map. I have also not been able, yet, to find a map of the proposed area. Does anyone know where I could locate such a map? I will continue looking on my own. David Woolwine Hofstra University
