Dear colleagues:

Just came back from three very full and productive three days in Charleston SC
organizing the logistics of our 51st AJL annual conference there, June
19th-22nd. Everything was PERFECT (besides the weather, but it's fall, we
cannot expect bright sunshine) and the warm welcome we received and the
eagerness to help made up for everything.

As a follow-up to my write up about food in Charleston, I would like to share
some more information:

Savannahbee. com
The store is on King Street. All the honey, including South Carolina honey, is
KSA certified. I stopped in this summer and sampled lots of different honey.

Charlestonteaplantation.com
The only active tea plantation in the U.S. Twenty miles from Charleston. There
are tours, although I haven't been there yet, but the tea is available to
purchase in 17 states as well as in Charleston.

We met with librarians and faculty of the College of Charleston, rabbis and
librarians in the community, the three Kosher caterers in the city, the AV
specialist at the hotel, the event manager at the hotel, JCC and Federation
administrators and you can't believe how proud they are that we have chosen
their city to hold our annual conference. They will do anything they can to
make it a great conference, helping us continue our tradition.

Wishing you all a Shabbat Shalom and a great week-end,
Best regards,
Shoshanah
