During this closure, I've been doing maintenance and cleaning in the library. Something I've noticed in several sets of reference volumes, is that we are missing 1 or several volumes. Checking the on-line catalog, they have not been there for at least 8 years.
Some are Talmudot, some are encyclopedias, some are, well, I don't know what. I have all sorts of Hebrew-reading volunteers offer to help, and can't get them to come in. What do other libraries do with broken sets? How do you decide if it should be kept, if a replacement volume can be ordered (some sets are from the early 60's and 50's), or if the set should go into the genizah? Thanks for any input you can offer. Maxine Wolfson - Rosen Library www.teprov.org
