Friends, I am developing a research guide to Jewish archives, broadly defined, which will be hosted online at https://urldefense.com/v3/__http://www.jewisharchives.org__;!!KGKeukY!kc7kCamS-euEPVGALCu9Q0tE4fcyVUM79PGPpzWwjSlJsvKp8RYgCSltxm-_9JECRiI$ . It will consist of two components: First, a directory of archives and special collections that deal with Jewish history and culture, with brief profiles of what kinds of materials they hold and their histories. Secondly, I am writing a general history of Jewish archives and collecting practices, in order to contextualize the kinds of archives that we use for research in Jewish studies. I plan to publish the guide this fall.
