Shalom Safranim ve Safraniot,
One of our readers in the library is in search of a modern novel that was originally written in English and subsequently translated to Hebrew. The novel should focus on a maternal figure in a patriarchal society or, alternatively, matriarchs in a female lineage. The Hebrew novels *Four Mothers* and *Tamara Walks on Water* by Shifra Horen would be two such examples, but for the language origin. Another option could be a novel that touches on physical and emotional maternal deprivation or alienation, also written originally in English and translated into Hebrew. Any suggestions??? Thank you in advance, Smadar Wisper English and Literature Libraries Bar Ilan University Israel
