How about Fran Arrick's* Chernowitz*, about a ninth-grade boy named Bobby Chernow who has never experienced antisemitism until a bully enters the class? I read it many years ago and found it to be a powerful depiction of how antisemitism can take over a class (a metaphor, I would say, for a population).
Although in my vague recollection of the book, it ends with the teacher showing the class a video about the Holocaust, the antisemitism it describes is indigenous to America. It's an old book (copyright 1983), but you can check it out on Amazon, which still carries it and even has a "Look Inside" feature, so I'm guessing it may have gone into reprint. Don't know for sure.
