This article was on the front page of the Hartford Courant. Basically, in Farmington, CT, the town's South Asian population asked the school board to make Diwali a day off, since Asians represent 23% of the population. Not only did the school board say no, they also decided to take away Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, which had already been approved holidays.
