Dear Elaine,
I buy lots of Hebrew children's books for our day school library (K-6) and
board books for our ELC. I have ordered them or bought them when I am Israel
because we live in western Canada and not near any good outlet for Hebrew kids
books. I am happy to chat with you further about Hebrew picture books, series,
chapter books and novels I have bought, both fiction and none.

Hello All,
Does anyone know of lists of Hebrew language books for children of all ages? A
patron is looking for materials in Hebrew to help develop fluency in speech and
comprehension for English-speakers. As an example of the genre, they
mentioned books by Galila Ron-Feder Amit (specifically the Gingi and Tuli
Ta'alooli series), although many of those are out of print. A more recent
example would be the Sha'ah shel Menucha series by Menucha Fuchs. To narrow the
question further, are there libraries where these types of books could be
circulated, instead of patrons needing to purchase them?

pandemic in 2020. The pause in publishing caused by COVID-related drawbacks is
almost over… Please watch your email for a note about the publication of JL 22
in the next few weeks.
Volume 22 addresses the question of provenance in Jewish libraries and archives
on multiple levels, presenting possible solutions to ethical considerations
concerning the origin of individual items or complete collections. These issues
are explored in a number of research articles, essays, and reviews. Other
topics covered in this volume are Jewish bookstores, children's literature,
libraries catering to or reviewed by Yiddish readers, and last but not least
our own association, with one essay about Judaica catalogers and another on
AJL’s copping with COVID as an organization. The 2-year gap is summarized in
our digital humanities and literature review columns, and a tribute to Heidi
Lerner.
I thank Nancy Sack for volunteering her crucial copyediting services to JL and
Nadav Sharon for his editorial assistance.
Work on Volume 23 is underway as well, continuing to focus on issues of
