Dear Amanda (Miryem-Khaye): I am immensely moved to see your tribute to Roberta. She was working at The Library’s Annex on West 43rd Street when it was suggested that I meet her. I invited her to lunch, and the rest, as they say, is history. She was a wonderful person and a unique member of the Jewish Division’s staff. Although I retired in 1998, we saw each other regularly whenever I visited The Library. Her passing was untimely, but it is comforting to know that her memory lives on.

She was a dedicated and passionate librarian Dear Safranim, I'm posting in memory of our brilliant and dedicated colleague, Roberta Saltzman (1960-2013), who was former Assistant Chief of the New York Public Library’s Dorot Jewish Division. She was a dedicated and passionate librarian known for her meticulous cataloging, research, and bibliographic skills, and her efforts to build the Library's Jewish cookbook collection. Roberta was a generous, kind, and helpful colleague. It's hard to believe that her 10th yortsayt is approaching.
