Please see cycobo...@aol.com for directions & reservations. Yuval Yavneh’s new album sets the Yiddish poetry of Sutzkever / Glatshteyn / Dropkin (translated into Hebrew) to music. Yuval will play the guitar as he performs a selection of his new music. Dr. Sheva Zucker will lead a “shmues” with him in English. Guest readers will read the poems in their original Yiddish. English translations will be supplied. The event starts PROMPTLY at 6:30PM. CYCO’s doors will open at 4:30PM for browsing and buying. In addition, he has produced six albums of music based on poetry. Yuval edited a collection of all of T. Carmi's poems. He is one of the founders of "Coehl", a platform for independent artists (writers, poets, musicians, partners) who publish under a joint logo and collaborate around artistic projects. He is the Director of the grants department of the New Israel Fund in Jerusalem. A limited number of books / CD’s will be available for sale. Subway- Take the 7 train to the 2nd stop in Queens, Hunters-Point Avenue. Walk down the street to 21st Street & 49th Avenue. Turn left at the corner and cross 49th Avenue stay on 21st Street, after crossing the Avenue, walk the entire 21st street toward the bridge. Walk another 100 feet along the path under the bridge. At end of path, walk up the stairs cross over the bridge. (Train Tracks beneath you are the LIRR train tracks)--(Above you is the exit traffic from the Queens Midtown Tunnel) While on the bridge, see the big building in front of you on the right that building is CYCO's home. CYCO is in the middle of the hall on left. After 5:30PM push the buzzer for CYCO, we will buzz you in. LIRR: The line is: Oyster Bay, take LIRR to Hunterspoint Avenue. Station is Hunterspoint Avenue, the walking directions from the train are the same as subway directions above, both LIRR & #7 train are located on 49th Avenue they are 500 feet apart. The #7 train is closer to 21st Street. Auto- Take Queens Mid-Town Tunnel. We are the first building you see as you exit the tunnel. BE SURE TO BE IN THE EXTREME RIGHT LANE WHEN YOU ENTER THE TUNNEL FROM MANHATTAN OR YOU WILL ADD 5 MILES TO YOUR JOURNEY. Take the right lane to exit on to Borden Avenue Exit. Left turn onto Borden Avenue, left on to 21st street at the light after crossing rail road tracks. Start to look for parking on the street once you cross RR tracks - 51-02 21st Street.
