Long Island author Sarah Beth Durst will share her newest middle-grade
novel, SPY RING (HarperCollins / Clarion Books). SPY RING is about two
modern-day kids who discover the truth about real-life American
Revolutionary War-era spy Anna Smith Strong (America's first female spy!)
through a treasure-hunt adventure in their hometown of Setauket, New York.
It weaves historical fact throughout a contemporary fictional adventure,
and it encourages young readers to celebrate the history that surrounds
them, while highlighting lesser-known heroes who lived right here on Long
Island. In a starred review, Kirkus called SPY RING: "Compelling and
fascinating; brings history to life."

Just read and really enjoyed the book. Jewish rep is the main character and
some discussions of Jewishness in her life.
