We are excited to announce the call for all unpublished middle-grade writers to submit their manuscripts for the 2025 Sydney Taylor Manuscript Award.
The Sydney Taylor Manuscript Award recognizes unpublished manuscripts of Jewish fiction targeting ages 8-13. The committee defines an unpublished author as not having previously published any works of fiction for young readers. This includes self-published as well as commercially published work. Completed manuscripts are due September 13th, 2024. The manuscript must be a work of fiction in English, between 20,000 and 50,000 words, with significant Jewish content for readers aged 8-13 years, both Jewish and non-Jewish. It should reveal positive aspects of Jewish life. Please note we do not accept poetry or short stories. The winner will be announced in January 2025.
