To Whom It Concerns:
My name is Cassandra Newman and I have been referred to you by Mr. Harvey
Sukenic at the Hebrew College.  I am the Founder and Executive Director of the
Gerbera Project, an aspiring nonprofit organization committed to promoting
interfaith fellowship activities and artistic projects that encourage American
Jews of all ages to feel safe and thrive.  We envision a world where Jews can
practice their faith and embrace their cultural heritage knowing that their
non-Jewish brothers and sisters will acknowledge and uphold their right to
exist free from violence or prejudice and do what they can to help them feel
safe.  You can find out more about our organization at

 .

One of the facets of our mission is using education to combat antisemitism.  To
that end, we have created Rabbi Story Hour, an online read-aloud program where
rabbis narrate a picture book to an audience of non-Jewish children.  The
narrated books will revolve around a theme for that week, such as fear,
navigating challenges, forgiveness and making amends, etc.  After the story,
the rabbi will either encourage the children to think about the theme by
sharing an anecdote from their own childhood or introducing them to an activity
that they can do at home.  The purpose of this campaign is to educate
non-Jewish children to associate Jewish people and religion with positive
elements.  In addition, the rabbi’s sharing of youthful experiences or
activities can encourage non-Jewish children to regard their Jewish peers with
empathy and a sense of commonality.
Episodes of Rabbi Story Hour would be broadcast on YouTube, Rumble and Spotify.

I am seeking Jewish children's picture books in the public domain for our
participating rabbis to read.  Would the Hebrew College contain any?  If not,
do you know if there are any websites besides Project Gutenberg (which only
contains one) that might have them?
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Cassandra Newman, Executive DirectorThe Gerbera Project
