Hello Mr. Coleman,
Lenore Bell recommended that I reach out to you to see if your amazing group might consider inclusion/collaboration. By way of introduction, my name is Jeremy Broekman and I'm a publicist representing NY-based best selling author Janet Bond Brill and am preparing to launch her new book, Little Edna’s War, honoring her mother-in-law and Holocaust survivor Edna Stefania Brill. Edna heroically participated in the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising in the Polish Resistance undercover and has an incredible back story. The book is published by Dutch upstander Liesbeth Heenk's Amsterdam Publishers and will be unveiled on International Holocaust Remembrance Day—January 27, 2026 (this is their 41st book in their Holocaust series!). I'd be honored if you'd be open to reading the book and see if you'd be open to exploring a Zoom/virtual program with her in February or March 2026. Are you open to a brief call or Zoom to discuss? A bit more context: - *Dr. Michael Berenbaum* wrote the Foreword to Janet's book and is open to participate in events - Janet's next book is about her father-in-law, another Holocaust survivor who was on Exodus 1947, the most famous ship of Holocaust survivors to reach Haifa during the blockade. A second book is underway to explore that and Edna's meeting up! - Janet is a seasoned keynote speaker and the author of four books with Random House - More info: LittleEdnasWar.com <https://urldefense.com/v3/__http://littleednaswar.com/__;!!KGKeukY!0Y_e1vl_58Jan4oiwjORlNnxVAKRQteDf6l6zJdA0Y6x-ghSwNNfEYrFXqXdhQfqm3kGInOXoE2CEBjajwd5AN063Qr-iNfw_V4$ > We are grateful for your consideration. Instead, she became a legend. At just seven years old, Edna Szurek risked everything to smuggle food through holes in the Warsaw Ghetto wall, knowing each step could be her last. By the age of 10, she was the youngest decorated member of the Polish resistance. And by the end of the war, she had defied every Nazi plan for her destruction. Though she fought armed with a pistol, Edna's true weapons were wit, bravery, and an unshakable love for her sister. Disguised as a Catholic girl, she even earned a medal from Pope Pius XII, who never knew he was honoring a Jewish child who had outsmarted the Reich. Drawn from over five hours of her firsthand testimony recorded by the USC Shoah Foundation, this powerful memoir traces Edna's impossible journey: from the ashes of a shattered birthday celebration to the brutal reality of a POW camp, escaping the deadly confines of the Warsaw Ghetto to find the hidden safety of a convent sanctuary. Edna Szurek should not have survived the Holocaust. But she did. And her story will stay with you forever.
