The Fedora project is planning to rewrite the foundations of RPM.  I've noticed 
that the higher level RPM tools are written in Python, and are (1) very slow, 
(2) single threaded, so window redraws don't happen promptly.  This would also 
be a cool place for Haskell to shine.
