Some systems have the C library already available as a dynamic library. For gentoo for example we would prefer to use the existing glfw package than statically linking in another copy. This would be a good application of configurations, something like: flag system-glfw description: Use the the system GLFW C library. Otherwise use the bundled copy. default: False Library ... if flag(system-glfw) extra-libraries: glfw else ...
