BTW, for future reference, the user guide on the cabal home page does mostly document the cabal command line interface. It talks about "runghc Setup.hs blah" but you can mentally substitute that for "cabal blah" and the same applies. At some point we'll update the user guide to be more specifically about the cabal program, rather than just about the Setup.hs interface. Volunteers welcome! I did recently switch the user guide from docbook xml to markdown, so it should be a lot easier for contributors.
