Hi David, The GHC team recently switched to Gitolite, and as part of this we disabled most of the user logins, modulo the administrators. This is because a very high percentage (read: essentially all) of the accounts purely existed to have some way to push to the GHC repos, and full shell access really wasn't needed on the server. Gitolite allows us to have a shared account with fine-grained access control, and less headaches.
For details on the switch, please see: http://ghc.haskell.org/trac/ghc/wiki/GitolitePlan#Developerchanges and look specifically at 'Authenticated read/write access' - this will get you up to speed on pushing to the tree again. Please note your key is already in place for Gitolite, so for development, you should have no issues if you follow the steps above. Your account on the server was not deleted. I can easily readd your key if you need to actually login with a shell account (if you have data you need to recover, etc.) Please let me know if this is the case.
