Drive /dev/sdb on abbot has begun its failure spiral. All of abbot's filesystems are on RAID-1 arrays, so there's no immediate danger of system failure. I realize that abbot is in the process of being replaced, but I've ordered a replacement drive anyway.
Of note: the drive bays are not hot-swappable, so there will be a downtime of approx. 20 minutes (which I'll schedule once the drive has arrived at our office) followed by a few hours of somewhat slower I/O as the RAID mirrors re-synchronize. -- Paul Heinlein Galois, Inc.
