Logging into the "robot" pointed me in the right direction. Hetzner (like Galois) uses fe80::/64 for internal routing. I changed the default route (both for the current runtime and also in the interfaces(5) file) to fe80::1. That did the trick. I'm now able to contact lun's published IPv6 address using ssh and http.
