A previous student of mine (Duke Briscoe) forwarded this to me (I've
shortened it somewhat). Thought you all might enjoy it...

OCEANPORT, N.J. (UPI) -- Owner Scott Savin has been saying for weeks
that his Technology might be the ``best of the rest'' of 3-year-olds
still in training.
The Time for a Change colt added fuel to the fire Sunday, winning the
$500,000 Haskell Invitational over a talented field of one-time Triple
Crown hopefuls at Monmouth.
...
Technology, ridden by Jerry Bailey, ran the nine furlongs in a snappy
1:48 3/5.
He paid $7.60, $4.40 and $3.60. Nines Wild returned $5.40 and $4.40.
Scudan paid $5.60. The $2 exacta paid $55.
``I think we separated ourselves from the other 3-year-olds today,''
Savin said.
``A.P. Indy is the premier 3-year-old. And then there's Alydeed. I'd
like to think we're the third-best 3-year-old in the country.
Still, the race did nothing to settle the battle for dominance among
3-year-olds. Technology came out of the Haskell with a run-down right
front leg -- an injury which can be painful for the horse but is not
career-threatening.
``I'll give him time to heal from where he ran down,'' trainer Sonny
Hine said. ``He's definitely not going to the Travers (at Saratoga). It
wouldn't be fair.''
