SBLP’2000 IV Brazilian Symposium on Programming Languages http://www.di.ufpe.br/~sblp2000 Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil May 17-19, 2000 First Call for Papers --------------------- The IV Brazilian Symposium on Programming Languages (SBLP’2000) will be held at Recife, on the northeastern coast of Brazil, on May 17-19, 2000. The symposium is sponsored by the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC) and aims to provide a forum where researchers, educators, and practitioners present and discuss the latest work on Programming Language technologies and theories. We invite authors to contribute to SBLP’2000 with the following kinds of submission: * Technical research papers introducing original research results on topics such as the following (but not exclusively): - Programming language design and implementation - Formal programming language semantics - Domain-specific programming languages - Visual programming languages - Programming languages for mobile, WWW, and network computing - Scripting languages - Design and implementation of programming tools and environments - New programming models - Theoretical programming language foundations - Programming language teaching * Experience reports on the industrial use of programming languages, tools, and environments. The reports should clearly state the problems and difficulties identified when using those technologies on real projects, possibly giving solutions to those problems or hints to avoid them. * Tutorials on modern programming languages, APIs, tools, environments, and theories. There will also be special invited lectures and tutorials, panels with the focus of setting the research agenda for the new millennium, and working meetings to closely group professionals interested on specific research topics.
