Personally I'm a little bit confused about the whole concept of deleting the 
latest put, would you do this to get access the the second to last entry or 
when and how would this be used?

When it comes to finding the timestamp for a put maybe we can return that from 
the server, so that if you wanted to keep track of latest you have that option 
even if you don't set an explicit ts client side.
