I'm currently working on HBASE-1744 so I thought about moving it to contrib at
the same time. Got the build scripts etc. working already. Not very much to do.
I've got two questions: The thrift-server is currently started with the hbase
command line script. After this move it is not guaranteed to be available. My
knowledge of shell scripts is very limited so I have no idea how to proceed. I
could provide a thrift script to start/stop the server. What is the preferred
way to go here?
And how does HBASE-1476 affect this move? I'm not very familiar with the inner
workings of HBase
