It is. Its good for a quick verification that things are working basically.
But your point thats its not up to the job of verifying hbase is running
correctly -- its too narrowly focused -- is well taken. Lets figure what this
tool is. It needs to do multiple column families, multiple columns and a
concurrent variety of read/write loadings with need for verification out on the
other side. I think the YCSB is good candidate because you can just drop in
plugins to do the variety but you, Karthik and Todd each have been working on
possible replacements.
