I at least have come to the opinion that we should dump StorageDrivers and move to a unified StorageHandler interface, as you suggested. We plan to start work on that in the next month or so. In the meantime HCATALOG-206 will allow us to work with Hive. So yes, we're incurring some debt but our plan is to pay it down quickly.
