That's a fine direction to take, but for backward compatibility reasons we
can't just drop the scripts. Also, there's functionality in the hcat command
line that isn't yet in the Hive command line (like ability to set group
permissions when you're using the storage based authorization provider). We
need some way for Windows users to access this functionality.
On the scripts that start/stop the metastore, I agree it makes sense to move
these to Hive, as I don't believe there's anything HCat specific in them right
now.
