Mithun Radhakrishnan created HCATALOG-562:
---------------------------------------------
Summary: HCatClient should allow for a table's message-topic-name
to be queried for.
Key: HCATALOG-562
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HCATALOG-562
Project: HCatalog
Issue Type: Bug
Components: client
Affects Versions: 0.4.1
Reporter: Mithun Radhakrishnan
Assignee: Mithun Radhakrishnan
Fix For: 0.5, 0.4.1
Although the default JMS topic-name corresponding to a table is defined as
"<dbName>.<tableName>", HCatalog does support the default to be overridden by
the creator/owner of the table.
There's no way for a message-consumer (E.g. Oozie) to know the topic-name for a
table. Assuming "<dbName>.<tableName>" is a good default behaviour, but not
entirely accurate.
HCatClient ought to expose a way to query for the table's JMS topic-name.
