Hi! for those of you unfamiliar with Apache Bigtop -- we're software for building a 100% open ASF distribution of bigdata management software based on Apache Hadoop and its ecosystem projects. We're to CDH/HDP what Debian is to Ubuntu.
Right now we're planning the next release of Bigtop 0.6.0 (which is supposed to be based on Hadoop 2.0.3) and I'm really exited to see that HCat's trunk seems to be supporting Hadoop 2.x codeline. The question I have is -- when do you think you can have that functionality available in a formal release? I'd be more than happy to help you test the trunk and RCs but I have to know whether HCat 0.5 (or whatever release is going to have Hadoop 2.x support) is likely to happen before mid March 2013 or not. Bigtop 0.6.0 is supposed to be coming out at the end of March 2013. Thanks, Roman.
