To all HCoop members: Nominations have closed for the 2008 board of directors election. Voting begins on April 4 (Friday) and continues for one week. At that time you will be able to vote at https://members.hcoop.net/portal/poll?id=14 on the portal.
The candidates are: Adam Chlipala (incumbent) Nathan Kennedy (incumbent) Justin Leitgeb Björn Lindström Davor Ocelic (incumbent) Per our last bylaws revision, there are now five seats on the board, and since only five candidates chose to run, this essentially means that the election is uncontested--Justin Leitgeb and Björn Lindström will be joining the current members on the board. However, it is still important for you to vote for at least two reasons: 1. The election is only binding if a quorum of 20% votes, which by my count means that at least 26 members must vote. Otherwise, we will have to start over with a new election, which would be very counterproductive. 2. The two candidates who receive the most votes will server on the board for terms of two years, while the other three will receive one-year terms. So you can express a preference for the two-termers by voting for a subset of the five if you wish. Note that only members who have joined on February 26 or earlier are eligible to vote in this election; our bylaws have a 45-day period for voting.
