Earlier today, Justin, Adam, Frank, and myself met up for dinner and visited the datacenter as well. Unfortunately, while attempting to fix some connections on the KVM I foolishly managed to dislodge the power cable for Deleuze, resulting in approximately 20 minutes of downtime. Email and web access were disrupted during that time period, however, incoming email sent during that time should filter in as MTAs should retry delivery.
I apologize for this outage. One result of this meeting is that Justin and Frank will be given access to the site to provide additional maintenance coverage. Another task that clearly needs to be done is to improve cable organization and cabinet layout to make onsite maintenance easier and prevent repetition of this incident. Other improvements are already in the works, such as having separate shell and backup MX servers. Hopefully service will continue to improve in the future.
