Ahoy! I am behind a week, thanks to a bit of a health scare (turns out I'm fine and actually in better shape than I thought, so worked out in the end!)... Since no one else suggested a name and there was certainly plenty of time to, the new server will be agora.hcoop.net (I like it!). I don't think I'll get it up this weekend, but I am going to aim to start setup very soon and get jitsi meet up ideally by October 4th, but more likely October 11th. Aiming to use the rest of October as a "beta" period to figure out how much server we have to throw at jitsi meet, and after that list it on the website as an officially supported service and maybe pick up a few members using it. > On 2020-09-02 12:23, Clinton Ebadi wrote: >> Clinton Ebadi <[email protected]> writes: >> >>> Greetings, >>> >>> Inspired by the FSF setting Jitsi Meet up for their members >>> (https://www.fsf.org/associate/about-the-fsf-jitsi-meet-server), I >>> have >>> been thinking about whether HCoop should also set up an instance for >>> members as a useful service, especially during this pandemic. >>> >>> I've created an informal week long poll to gauge interest: >>> https://members.hcoop.net/portal/poll?id=76 , please vote yes/no if >>> you >>> would or would not have a use for Jitsi meet. >> >> We've got nine responses; eight yes, one no, and so far no >> objections -- >> I think this is enough to say it's a good idea to at least set up jitsi >> meet in a beta capacity, and that it would actually be used by members. >> >> So... anyone have suggestions for a server name so we can set up a poll >> and let everyone vote on that? -- Mike: I WAS NOT MICROWAVED.
