I've completed the enhancements I had in mind to implement for the web portal before I felt ready to migrate users. The bizarro world version of the portal (in opposition to the current "real" one) is running at https://members2.hcoop.net/. The additions are:
* Taking member pledges into account in apportioning hosting bills * Tracking which machines particular requests relate to (e.g., firewall rules are host-specific) * Implementing my interpretation of docelic's suggestion about tracking time-to-completion for support issues. See https://members2.hcoop.net/portal/qos for the little reports that I've whipped up this afternoon. If anyone can't get into the in-development portal and wants to, let me know, and I'll copy over the latest version of web passwords from fyodor. The upshot of my news is that I'm happy to be able to say the same thing that docelic said: I consider my pre-migration tasks done. Besides debugging Domtool and the portal as we migrate members, the main job left for me is to develop a daemon for killing processes with excessive resource usage, or find an existing program fitting that bill. _______________________________________________ HCoop-SysAdmin mailing list [email protected] http://hcoop.net/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/hcoop-sysadmin
