Following cclausen's departure, I asked Adam Megacz if he would join as an HCoop admin. Adam fortuitously joined HCoop around that time, and he has some solid experience administering AFS.
Looking back on what went wrong with cclausen, it seems like a mistake to add a very new member as an admin just because he has special admin experience, since we don't have much data on how he gets along with the rest of us. In this case, I know Adam in Real Life and can vouch for the unlikelihood that he'll spaz out like cclausen did. :-) However, I'm posting here now to give anyone who is uncomfortable with this a chance to object.... We have a formal policy for all members in specific volunteer positions that says that they agree to respond within 24 hours to any HCoop-related e-mail directed to them. I think this is very important for letting us coordinate with any kind of smoothness, given that we never meet in person to plan anything. Adam says that this time frame is a little tight for him and suggests 48 hours instead. What do y'all think about upping the period to 48 hours for everyone? _______________________________________________ HCoop-SysAdmin mailing list [email protected] http://hcoop.net/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/hcoop-sysadmin
