Hi,

I am removing the item "DNS server daemon" from the todo list
(http://wiki.hcoop.net/wiki/NewServersSetup) after looking at the setup
today.

Basically, it looks like things are working OK. Unless anyone objects
to my idea of using nscd right now for caching instead of bind, I'll
assume that it's OK to not set up bind as a caching nameserver on mire
and deleuze. Looking at the nscd.conf on deleuze, this process should
currently be doing hostname caching as well without further
modifications, although this could be confirmed with a couple of straces.

I would still like one of the admins to make the changes to the
resolv.conf suggested in my previous email to make things run a bit more
efficiently, but this shouldn't block the migration process.

Once I hear that the first domain has been migrated, I'll scrutinize the
domtool files and make sure that the dns settings generated are
reasonable from inside and outside of our network.

Anyway, it looks like things have come a long way! Thanks to all for
your help.

Justin
