I set up some monitoring on my home computer with nagios that alerted me to the fact that bind went down around 4:14 EST on deleuze. I logged in a while later and the daemon process wasn't running. I started it with sudo but wasn't able to look at the log file /var/log/named.log to do further debugging because the permissions were changed (now it's owned by root:adm).
BTW, if anyone wants to install nagios on deleuze I would be willing to configure this as I have time in the next few weeks. However, I understand that this should probably wait until the most critical things are fixed on the new systems so that migration can begin as soon as possible.
