In order to adapt sequences on our 3T Prisma, I'm looking for details both in the Appendix I of the reference manual, "HCP_Q3_Release_Appendix_I.pdf", and articles published in the dedicated volume of Neuroimage (n° 80). As I'm a new user of Siemens scanner, I may have misinterpreted something, but I'm confused by different informations. In the top of the page 7 of appendix I, it's pointed out that reconstruction of diffusion weighted images acquired with multi-channel head coils shouldn't be done with Sum-of-squares, but instead with the SENSE (R=1) method. At the end of the appendix I, all Siemens sequence parameters for diffusion weighted imaging are listed. In the System section, one can see : Coil Combine Mode Sum of Squares Does this sequence parameter is the same described page 7 and if yes, is there a mistake ? In the Sotiropoulos et al's paper (NI n° 80, pages 125-143), at the end of page 139, the point 4 talked about a "root-sum-of-squares" reconstruction method that should be avoided. Is it the same parameter as 'Coil Combine Mode' ?
