It can be obtained from the HDF Downloads page: http://www.hdfgroup.org/downloads/index.html#hdf4 For the HDF 4.2.8 documentation, see: http://www.hdfgroup.org/doc.html HDF 4.2.8 is a minor release with a few new features and changes, including the following: o Modifications were made in support of the HDF Mapping Project: - The function, GRgetpalinfo, was added to allow applications to get information about palettes. - Support was added to the library and hdp to detect IMCOMP compression. - A new function, GRgetcomptype, was added for returning an image's compression, including IMCOMP. o Support was added for Mac OS X 10.7.4 with GNU gcc and gfortran.
