I've tried putting lhdf5_fortran but still get the same error messages.
Any other suggestion?

Maybe the point comes at
$(LOADER) -o $(EXE) $(MAIN_OBJ) $(LOADER_OPTS) $(ARC) \
$(LIBUTILS) $(HDF5_LIBS) $(SYSLIBS)
Should $(HDF5_LIBS) be the latest in the command line?
