Daryn Sharp commented on HDFS-6407:
-----------------------------------

This is a rather important change to us. We rely heavily on the legacy ui for
debugging storage imbalances, failed volumes, etc. When you have well over 5k
nodes it's not easy to eyeball an unsorted list.

That all said, I'm not sure I fully understand the conversation, but [~wheat9],
can you please provide example code of how you would address your concern? It
almost looks like that column should only include the percent since an earlier
column includes the used capacity? I think that would avoid the re-parsing of
formatted data?

> new namenode UI, lost ability to sort columns in datanode tab

> old ui supported clicking on column header to sort on that column. The new ui
> seems to have dropped this very useful feature.
> There are a few tables in the Namenode UI to display datanodes information,
> directory listings and snapshots.
> When there are many items in the tables, it is useful to have ability to sort
> on the different columns.
