+1. The improved workflow LGTM.
I think the switch to use UUID instead of ip in ratis is a good improvement
anyway. It opens the possibility to migrate any datanode to a new machine with
different ip.
One minor note: Now we heavily depends on the order of values in
dfs.datanode.plugins. I propose to do some safety check in
ObjectStoreRestPlugin.start (throw an exception if HdslDatanodeService has
already been started) But it's a proposal for long-term. It could be done in a
follow-up jira.
