Xiao Chen commented on HDFS-13281:
----------------------------------

I understand the no edek part. The argument is the test should verify the
encrypted bytes written are still encrypted bytes.
bq. If there is no edek, then how will client decrypt ?
client does not. The test verifies that the read bytes are the same, like
you're doing now. Only the bytes being verifies should be encrypted bytes,
because as explained there should be no circumstance you'd want to write clear
text to it.

> Namenode#createFile should be /.reserved/raw/ aware.

> If I want to write to /.reserved/raw/<dir> and if that directory happens to
> be in EZ, then namenode *should not* create edek and just copy the raw bytes
> from the source.
> Namenode#startFileInt should be /.reserved/raw/ aware.
