I have sometimes faced below error even if I use HDFS. This is because
{{maxEC}} can be 0.
{noformat}
$ bin/hadoop fs -ls -R -e hdfs://
...
-ls: Conversion = s, Flags = 0
{noformat}
The uploaded patch also fixes this bug since it initializes {{maxEC}} with
non-0.
