Which architecture did you guys run in production? I wonder, do you plan to 
support both architecture at the same time? It looks to me that the code can be 
simplified if only one architecture needs to be supported.

If you only aim for the first architecture that's totally fine too, but I 
prefer to somehow pushing the concept of rolling window to the hadoop metric 
system.
